Our blocks of Pommard clones, Dijon clones, and Wadenswil & Jackson clone fruit were hand-harvested from our 1988 plantings in the Illinois Valley. After separate fermentation and aging, the best six barrels were chosen from these lots and blended to make this wine. 178 cases produced.

This direct-to-press rosé is from our 1988 plantings of own-rooted vines in Southwest Oregon’s historic Illinois Valley.  Our Wadenswil, Jackson, and Pommard clone Pinot Noir parcels were hand-harvested and vinified separately in small-lot stainless tanks or neutral-barrel fermentations, then blended to make this cuvee.  480 cases produced.

Our most prized fruit comes from three small blocks of Clone 108 Chardonnay, with both North/South and East/West oriented rows gracing our steepest hillside slopes.  The 300-year-old “Pistol Grip Oak” tree at the top of the hill provides shade to the middle rows while allowing more full sun along the outer rows.  Each section of these blocks is monitored for flavor development through the ripening season and harvested in intervals for optimal complexity in the wine.  141 cases produced.
